A friend of mine got his 4th DUI in 2008 in the state of Illinois. He is currently on probation for it. His hearing officer told him that the judge handed down convictions on his prior 3 DUIs which were originally adjudicated as supervisions. He is now being told by someone in the traffic court building that he is now banned for life from driving in the state of Illinois and the country. Should I buy a laptop or build a good computer for college?

I will be heading off to college in one year and I'm planning on majoring in Computer Science/Aviation. Since CS requires a lot of programming, calculating, and number crunching, I was guessing I'd build a nice rig for around $700 (excluding monitor, keyboard, mouse). However, if I have a retarded roommate it could get destroyed, stolen, etc. But it will be very comfortable and FAR more powerful than any laptop I could purchase for the same price (around $1200-$1500). But if I got a laptop I could take it wherever, even when I visit my parents and do my work outside. But I'm a gamer so hardware is something I LOVE and need for my games. Jailbroken iPod Touch Theme Doesn't Show Theme Lockscreen?

Alright, so I have a new iPod Touch 4G running on 4.3.3 firmware. For every theme I have downloaded from Cydia, (I.E Mac Collision) everything works but the theme's lockscreen wallpaper and slider/unlock method; it just shows the background I had before jailbreaking and the normal slide to unlock. The only things I have checked in Winterboard are the ones for the theme, as well as no Undocked or Docked icon labels. On my 3G iPod I had before it was stolen, the lockscreens worked just fine, and there were no new updates for the themes. Can someone please tell me step by step how to fix this problem, whether it be an SSH thing or something else. Much thanks

My apple ID is NOT working ?

So my iPod got stolen, and before, I was using y friends apple ID because I didn't know how to use it and was new to iTunes and all that ish. I would say you're doing things right. One of my little dogs was abused when only a puppy and was left shut in a garden shed for the first few months of her life - the nervousness and timid behavious has never left her, even eight years on, and we're always aware of how things can stress her out so easily, so we try not to use raised voices around her (everyone has to have the odd argument though!) and we do our utmost not to startle her. She is so very well behaved though, so we've never really had to deal with correcting bad behaviour, other than she is very possessive when it comes to her toys, and smacking or any other dominance towards her has not had to be an issue. I think the firm voice and sending to the basket/cushion is the best way forward. Funny how they are out to please you - so they dont like the firm voice, seen as being told off and in bad books.

Graphics Card Problems?

Just recently I bought a used Radeon HD 6870 video card from Fry's and a new power supply. I had troubles installing both the power supply and the card into my computer so I sent it in to a local computer repair store. I got it back the next day. Their report said when they were installing the drivers the system randomly froze but they got it to work. Afterwards they tested Portal 2, Spore, and Left 4 Dead 2. They worked. However, before I got this new card I had an Intel Media Processor for my "video card". The Intel card would play Portal, Left 4 Dead, and Spore, but it would not run Mass Effect 1 or 2, Magicka, or Splinter Cell Conviction. The new card that I have runs Portal, L4D, and Spore perfectly. But when I try to play the other games listed above I have problems. The system will freeze randomly in the title screen of each game. I restart my system and retry it a few times. After a few more tries the game doesn't freeze, and the game runs like a dream. However, the next time I try to run it, it freezes again, and I have to restart my system a couple of times to get the game running again. What might be the problem?

Some judges will admit it into evidence because it shows the *character* of the person. Just depends on the judge you get. The person suing you can bring anything up they want. Whether or not the judge wants to hear it or thinks it is relevant to the case is another thing. If for example the person was convicted of fraud, and the landlord can show that the tenant set out to defraud him, then, it might be allowed.

Public Intoxication Charge/2nd Lt/Pilot in USAF?

Hi again. I recently spoke to the courts and I can do a "deferred disposition" (without going to court) under which if I comply to all the rules in the 6 month probationary period my PI charge will not result in a conviction. After that, in the state of TX I am entitled to an expunction of the charge. Should I try this route or will it still carry all the negative consequences of a conviction. I am scheduled to start pilot training in 3 months so I would still be under the probationary period when I went to base. My only other option that I see is to hire a lawyer and plead not guilty and hope the charges are completely dismissed (also if they are not dismissed what ends up happening? can I still file for deferred disposition then?). As others have said, you normally have to disclose convictions up to 5 years old, no matter how long they actually stay on your license. But you may have to declare them for much longer than this, as most insurers also ask if you have EVER been banned from driving - so even if it was 20 years ago you still have to tell them. They then assess whether you are likely to re-offend and load your premium accordingly.

My employer is doing a background check on me today. They only go back 7 years. My last conviction was in 2003. That's 8 years ago. My last entry for this case was in 2004. That's 7 years, 2 months and some days ago. Will that show up when they do my background check? I think it's really good. I understand that Elias and Lily are -were- brother and sister and Elias ends up killing her because, I'm guessing, she was the "last infected human."
