Need help for criminal based convictions.?

OK, here is the situation, police have dogs with them on duty to help catch criminals, if you kick a police K9 you get an assault on a police officer charge, if you kill a dog, you get murder on a police officer, but if someone was being chased by a dog, and he ran through someones yard that had a beast of a dog in it, and the police dog was killed by that bigger dog, who would get the murder charge, the dog who killed it, the person the dog was pursuing or the owners of the dog.?
