Is Elias Darwish Dead?

I want to know if Elias Darwish is dead, he might be related to me and I have no WAY of finding out whether or not he is dead or not. I heard he was one of the victims to get killed in China in 2008 from and earthquake but I have no information telling me whether its true or not.
